A Brave New Books favorite, Freeman, returns to the bookstore February 2nd at 7PMto deliver a lecture - E.T. and the Transhumanist Agenda.
“Dangerous, profoundly wrong and has no place in our society…” are the words President Obama used to describe human cloning. Was there a covert meaning in this message. CERN opens dimensions and seeks dark matter in space. A spiraling vortex of sapphire particles opens over Norway as Obama arrives to receive his Nobel Peace Prize. Mysterious missiles launch from coast to coast and the Space War ramps up with the X-37B, an automated military space shuttle and Space X launches the Dragon preparing to meet Robonaut 2 on the ISS.
Are we witnessing the rise of the technocratic elite?

Join Brave New Books on Sunday, January 8th at 6:00 PM for a special kind of Ron Paul fund raiser.
Operation: Paulcock. Â (Get it? It’s like Operation Peacock from WWII, but Paul).
Harlan has been in contact with a sign-making company sympathetic to Ron Paul who is willing to provide 4’x8’ professional, campaign-quality vinyl banners at cost. ($15 each! Wow!)
Here’s the goal: To raise $750 to purchase 50 vinyl banners, and organize volunteers to help display the banners in strategic locations around central Texas.
These banners look fantastic, and they’re practically a steal at $15 each. Help us spread the message of liberty and let central Texas know that we will not back down!
January 8th, 1835 is the first and only time the US national debt was at 0. What a great day to support the only candidate that actually would work toward that again!
Remember: January 8th, 6-10 PM at Brave New Books. Hope to see you there!
Excuse the poor iPhone pictures. It looks so much better in person, PROMISE.
Please don’t bomb Iran. I know it’s hip to hate on this small Middle Eastern state, surrounded by nukes and civil war, and I know both the progressives and neo-cons seem to think that war with Iran is a fabulous idea. It’s not. It’s evil. Don’t do it. You’re bringing the troops home from Iraq next month (or so you say), and I imagine you’re itching to start a new conflict since the Libya adventure was more of a sparkler than a firework compared to recent US military history. But seriously, I’m really imploring you here. Please don’t bomb Iran. You’ve already authorized the slaughtering of more men, women and children, both guilty and innocent, than any other Nobel Peace Prize winner in all of history. Can’t you just cool it for a second before you decide to spur the commencement of World War III? I’m being totally serious. Just think about it for a minute and hold your horses. You know better than this. Don’t do it.
Yours Involuntarily,
Tiffany
PS: if you would please not NDAA me, either, that would be great.
I know this is a little “old,” but I’m still delighted by Ron Paul’s first 5 words after Herman Cain’s response to the question. Alan Greenspan was a disaster - and he set the stage for Bernanke’s horribleness much the way Bush paved the way for Obama. Let’s face it. Fed banksters, like most politicians, are rooting for the same team: The State. People need to become more aware of the dangers of electing a former Federal Reserve chairman to the executive office of President. Raising that awareness is our job.
“To promote awareness of Constitutional liberties, students representing Texas Young Americans for Liberty and Libertarian Longhorns sponsored a free speech wall last Friday, Sept. 23rd, at UT’s West Mall from 11AM-4PM. Countless students and members of the Austin community exercised their right to free speech by writing and drawing on the wall.
We received a great response from the UT student body and drew in a diverse crowd of people around our wall. From Conservatives to Anarcho-Syndicalists, students from all over the political spectrum voiced their thoughts and opinions on our wall. We were definitely popular in the eyes of our fellow students.
We also used this event as a recruitment drive opportunity and a way to get people to sign our petitions to bring Ron Paul on campus. We were very successful in getting over hundreds of signatures for our petition and got dozens of emails for our mailing lists. Even amongst people who disagreed with our principles there was great interest in our groups’ activities and a potential campus visit by Ron Paul. Overall, this event was a slam-dunk in terms of promoting our groups to the rest of the UT campus.”
